Take a Hike

There are so many hikes of various ability levels. The good news is that they are all pretty because you're in Sedona, so you can't really go wrong.

Some of our favorites include

Bear Mountain this is a tough 4.9 mile hike with panoramic views at the top; for an easier hike try Doe Mountain across the street.
- After your hike go to the Enchantment resort for a drink or food. You won't be disappointed by the amazing views and the beautiful grounds of the resort.
Brins Mesa Trail - right near the main drag of Sedona. This is a less popular hike. Still has great views

Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte

Go Wine Tasting

Wine tasting is a fun way to spend a day or unwind after a long hike

Page Springs Cellars: the grounds here are beautiful. They have a window that you can order cheeseboards and bottles of wine. Grab a bottle and stroll over to the creek for a perfect afternoon
Javelina Leap: right down the street from Page Springs. One of the Lost Saguaro favorites in the area
Alcantara Vineyards: Another fantastic outdoor area.
- If you are feeling adventurous check out the water to wine experience at Alcantara Vineyards where you kayak down the Verde River to the vineyard

Eat at the Sedona Airport

This one might sound a little odd. The airport is a great place to take in all of the views Sedona has to offer. The restaurant is fantastic. Eat and drink up on the mesa with views of the red rocks and planes coming and going.

Cottonwood

20 minutes from Sedona and generally less crowded, Cottonwood has a lively little downtown with shops, wine bars, breweries and restaurants.

check out the numerous Forest Service Roads in the area, there is a lot of great boondocking

Jerome

This once mining town is perched on the mountainside 16 minutes away from Cottonwood.

This town has revitalized over the years and now boasts funky shops, restaurants and wine bars

It is supposedly "haunted"

Check out live music at the Spirit Room
Go to Caduceus Cellars Tasting Room for beautiful views and great wine
Drive to Mingus Mountain
Drive to Prescott

Sample Itinerary

Looking for a quick few days in Sedona? Look no Further

Day 1: Drive to Sedona from Phoenix

Only a few hours from Phoenix. On your way into town check out either Bell Rock or Cathedral Rock. Take a hike and some pictures
Go to Telepaque shops. It's touristy, yes, but if you are from out of state there are a few cool shops to see here
Drive through the town and explore a bit
Have lunch or dinner at the airport depending on the time; the airport is a great place to watch the sunset over the town
Camp near Sedona, use iOverlander to find a good spot

Day 2:

Take a quick hike in the morning
Drive to one of the Vineyards for lunch and wine tasting
Drive to Jerome
Have dinner in Cottonwood or Jerome depending on preference
- If you are feeling spooky stay the night in Jerome's Haunted Hotel
- Boondock near Cottonwood.

Day 3:

Wake up really early and Explore Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock (this area gets super busy so it may not be worth it depending on the traffic and time of year)
Drive up the 89 A to Flagstaff for a scenic route
Alternate to 89 A
- Stop for lunch in Sedona or at the Enchantment Resort. If at the Enchantment makes sure to hike Doe Mountain or Bear Mountain
- Return to Phoenix
